Commit to Vote for Arlington County Commonwealth's Attorney
On June 11, vote to protect civil liberties and civil rights
Commonwealth's Attorneys are the most powerful elected officials in Virginia's criminal justice system, and the decisions they make have a tremendous impact on our community and people's lives. Far too often, Commonwealth's Attorneys use their power to prop up a broken system rather than pursue justice.
On June 11, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti and Theo Stamos (incumbent) will be on the ballot for the Democratic nomination for Commonwealth's Attorney for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church.
To learn more about where the candidates stand on key civil liberties issues, read Theo Stamos and Parisa Dehghani-Tafti’s ACLU questionnaire responses here .
We believe that these candidates should champion reforms that would reduce incarceration , eliminate racial disparities , and increase transparency and accountability in their office . The ACLU of Virginia does not endorse or oppose candidates for office, but we do want Virginians to cast an informed ballot and know where the candidates stand on the issues.
